New controls help teams protect their work
It only takes a few clicks for admins to lock down content and monitor for security threats with external sharing reporting, Data Classification, web session management, a backup solution for external drives (in addition to computers) and device limit settings. With greater content controls, admins can:
- Recover files fast with extended version history – up to one year for Dropbox Advanced users
- Track and manage content after it is shared outside the company
- Control when and where team members have access to content

Dropbox Capture beta: Create recordings without the 5-minute limit
New features added to Dropbox Capture, our visual communication tool that lets users create and easily share screen recordings, video messages and screenshots, give users more freedom to express their ideas. Capture updates include:
- 5-minute recording limit removed– users can now record for up to 2 hours
- Commenting on captures– after users receive a capture to view, they can share feedback by commenting on specific time stamps
- Organising your captures– group related recordings together, such as a how-to video on submitting expenses, a screenshot of the expense submission portal and more

Dropbox Backup allows teams to back up external hard drives
Teams can automatically back up their connected external drives (alongside their computers) to the cloud so that they can quickly recover lost data without all the downtime.
Dropbox Backup for external drives is available for teams using Dropbox Standard and Advanced.

Easily save content from other apps, all in one place, with the Dropbox mobile app
With the new improvements to the Dropbox mobile app, users can more easily save content scattered across various mobile apps and store them in Dropbox. Customers can keep using their phones while uploading multiple files in the background – at significantly faster upload speeds. Upon notification that the upload to Dropbox is complete, users can immediately view the file or easily share the content with the link provided.
